Our Philosophy

"Art" was the first attribute given to our profession in its early years. The art was expressed in many ways: improving patient's smile, bringing back health to teeth and gums, and avoiding painful procedures. It wasn't always an easy task back then: techniques and materials were not always reliable. A big change took place since, and today painful dental procedures have become a thing from the past.

The art of choosing:

Research and development of new materials and techniques didn't seem to focus only on the well being of our patients, but unfortunately on quick results and immediate profit as well. Impressive products not always tested enough, aggressive treatments without feedback, and big advertising budgets made it very easy for dental manufacturers to market these fast selling novelties. The results can be seen today with unsatisfied patients, below average results, costly procedures, and loss of confidence; art was vanishing slowly and dentists were becoming simply executors.

Isn't it sad? It is sad for those who lost the art, but we have developed a philosophy in our practice and it's called the art of choosing. We have learned from our own mistakes when to refuse to implement a new technique, and when to reject any treatment option or new material that may compromise the well being, the long-term results, and the finances of our patients who put their dental and general health in our hands.
